Villena Town Council has enhanced the lighting at the sports facilities of three schools. The Department of Sports has replaced the lighting fixtures at the sports court in CEIP Ruperto Chapí and two others at CEIP Príncipe Don Juan Manuel and La Celada, as announced by its head, Maite Gandía.

This initiative improves energy efficiency and visibility at the sports facilities for children's activities in the afternoon. Gandía mentioned that these schools were selected because they host the most sports activities, both in the Sports Schools and through various sports clubs' training sessions.

However, the Department of Sports' plan includes replacing the lighting fixtures in the remaining schools, which will be completed in the coming months. The Municipal Electricians Brigade is responsible for this initiative, both for the improvements already made and those planned for the near future.

Gandía highlighted the importance of having sports facilities in different parts of the city, firstly to ease congestion at the main sports complex, and secondly to bring training sessions closer to children's homes. The Department of Sports is committed to optimizing the municipal sports facilities, ensuring daily use of all of them, and facilitating extracurricular physical activity in various neighbourhoods.
