San Vicente to Establish New Parking Area Adjacent to UA's Faculty of Education

San Vicente del Raspeig Town Hall has completed the cleaning and preparation of the land located next to the new sports pavilion and near the Faculty of Education at the University of Alicante. This will allow its use as a public parking area on a provisional basis.

The Mayor and Urban Planning Councillor, Pachi Pascual, stated that "the intervention was necessary to enhance the services available to users of the new sports pavilion and the UA. Additionally, it was important to improve the plots, which had been filled with debris and weeds for many years, thus improving the area's health conditions."

Pascual added that "given the necessary cleaning, we saw the opportunity to transform it into a new parking area, particularly useful for students and athletes from San Vicente. Moreover, it will accommodate the public during major sporting events planned for the future."

The four prepared plots cover an area of approximately 13,700 square meters. The work carried out has removed 4,500 tonnes of debris from these lands, which will undergo a sustainable transformation process based on milling for reuse as aggregate.

The mayor concluded that "this space will serve while we expedite efforts to convert it into sports facilities land. We hope that, in a few months, we can begin constructing new municipal sports facilities, as we promised, to meet the demands of clubs and athletes."
