San Vicente del Raspeig has mobilised over £20 million to undertake investments in the municipality. The Councillor for Infrastructure and Architecture has launched 29 urban projects in just four months since the municipal budget for 2025 was approved.
The government team aims to transform and modernise the city, making it more pleasant, accessible, and modern. Among the projects, 11 are included in the 2025 budget, while the rest will be funded from treasury surpluses that came into effect in May.
These initiatives involve transforming urban spaces, such as the refurbishment of Mayor and Villafranqueza streets and the Paseo de los Olivos and Jazmines street, with a budget close to £8 million. Additionally, £1.7 million will be invested in the conditioning of various streets and paths, and more than £1 million will be allocated to the renewal of lighting in La Almazara and industrial estates.
Among the completed or advanced projects are the red track of the Sports City, the new calisthenics area in the Canastell industrial estate, or the Skatepark in Adolfo Suárez Park, budgeted at £348,000. Also underway are the stormwater collector in the Barranco de las Ovejas, a project to improve sidewalks and tree pits, and the enhancement of the municipal archive.
Sports infrastructure
There is also significant investment in sports infrastructure, such as the second phase of the Water Centre, with a budget of over £4 million for the new municipal swimming pools, which are expected to begin construction this year following the receipt of bids and the selection of the contractor.
In this regard, some projects are already completed or well advanced, such as the red track of the Sports City, the new calisthenics area in the Canastell industrial estate, or the Skatepark in Adolfo Suárez Park, budgeted at £348,000. With these, San Vicente aims to expand the sports offer for citizens and position itself to host championships.

The list of awarded projects includes the renewal of irrigation on Vicente Saval Avenue (£642,400), the undergrounding of lines in the Tubo neighbourhood (£228,000), the construction of niches in the cemetery (£142,701), and the demolition of the building on Balmes Street (£113,000).
Currently in the bidding phase are the adaptation of the green area in the Solar de la Festa (£535,000), the improvement of the Guardia Civil building (£201,400), the renewal of the sewer system (£85,000), and the refurbishment of the stairs in Plaza de España (£48,500).
Future projects
This year also includes funding for future projects such as the cultural centre in La Yesera, a new primary care centre on Balmes Street, a football field next to the Sports Pavilion, underpasses, the adaptation of the Adolfo Suárez Park building, and the refurbishment of Maestro Chapí Street.
The Mayor of San Vicente, Pachi Pascual, emphasised that "all these proposals were not just wishes; many of them are already on the contracting table, and we hope that most can start this year and become a reality in 2026." Pascual stressed that "we have set very demanding deadlines that we are meeting with the aim of improving the services that citizens receive."
Improvements in maintenance and cleaning contracts
Pascual also recalled the launch in 2025 of the new contract for the maintenance and improvement of the municipality's green infrastructure and, soon, the awarding of the cleaning and waste collection service, possibly in September, to be in effect before the end of the year. The mayor concluded that "this is the most necessary contract to ensure the city is in the condition it deserves."
High compliance rate in investment
After analysing the data, Pascual confirmed "a high compliance rate, close to 75%, in projects initiated by this City Council." The mayor detailed that "these interventions collectively amount to nearly £20 million, meaning that three-quarters of the investments allocated to Infrastructure and Architecture in 2025 have already commenced, and it is expected that by the end of the year, this percentage will increase to 85%." This will mean that projects worth £23 million will either be in progress, already awarded, in the bidding phase, or in the project development stage.
Pascual expressed his gratitude "for the level of work maintained by all the technicians involved in contributing to building a more modern, pleasant, and accessible city with the development of much-needed infrastructure and the updating and fine-tuning of existing ones."
