A Vessel Rescues an Injured Turtle in Dénia

The Oceanográfic of Valencia Takes Charge of the 30-Kilo Specimen

A vessel spotted a sea turtle in the waters of Dénia on the morning of Saturday, January 25th. The animal was on the surface and struggling to dive. A sailor rescued it and alerted the marine species stranding and rescue network. Subsequently, it was collected by the Oceanográfic of Valencia.

The specimen weighed approximately 30 kilos and had a healed wound on one of its rear flippers, according to the Dianense Town Hall. The person who found it, Lluis Pérez, has rescued turtles in these waters before.
