Velca, the Spanish manufacturer, is once again redefining electric mobility with the launch of the Calima S 2025. This scooter, featuring a removable battery, sets a new standard in the mid-range segment by becoming the first model in its category in Spain to incorporate ABS braking system on both wheels as standard. The range is now approximately 130 kilometres, compared to the previous version's 100 kilometres.
Among other notable features of the bike, the Calima S 2025's electric energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 72V 60Ah, manufactured by CATL, the world's leading producer of such components, providing users with added assurance and reliability.
This battery can be recharged with an external charger that connects via a schuko-type cable—also standard and without any extra cost—to any domestic electrical outlet, thus eliminating the need for a special connection. In just over five hours, the charging process will be complete.
To propel itself, this scooter with a removable battery uses an electric motor integrated into the rear wheel, delivering up to 5000W of power and equipped with a Fardriver controller. This engine ensures a maximum GPS speed of 95 km/h, allowing the scooter to be used beyond the purely urban environment.
Other premium features and specifications offered as standard on the new Calima S 2025 include Michelin City Grip 2 tyres, ensuring maximum safety and grip throughout the year. It also features a keyless start system with proximity ignition technology and 'push-to-start', a colour display with a real range indicator, and a cruise control system.
