Driver training remains a cornerstone of the Royal Automobile Club of Spain – RACE, thanks to its driving courses conducted at the school located at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE. The company has reached an agreement with Vecttor, the leading urban passenger transport company using chauffeur-driven vehicles, a subsidiary of the Cabify group, with the aim of raising safety and passenger service standards in the sector.
The team of instructors at the RACE Driving School, with over 40 years of experience, will conduct a series of theoretical and practical training sessions at the school's headquarters to test skills such as driving posture, anticipation, emergency braking, cornering, and the use of driver assistance systems. A total of 45 Vecttor drivers in Madrid will participate in these sessions.
This initiative is part of Escuela Vecttor, a project driven by the company with the aim of professionalising the sector by providing its employees with continuous training and personalised advice to ensure the quality standards demanded by this professional activity are met at all times. The Escuela Vecttor training plan includes strategic areas covering aspects such as efficient driving, first aid, passenger service, and the ergonomic and psychosocial aspects of the driver, among others.
For Ignacio Fernández, director of the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE and director of the RACE Foundation, "training and awareness of drivers and road users have been fundamental pillars of RACE since its inception. We are proud that Vecttor trusts us and the experience of the RACE Driving School instructors for the training of their drivers, providing our knowledge and equipping them with the necessary tools to further enhance the quality standards of passenger service. Driving is a great responsibility, and our goal is for drivers not only to know what to do behind the wheel but also why and how to execute it optimally."
More than 200,000 students trained
"At Vecttor, we want to go a step further in the professionalisation of the urban mobility sector, and that is why we are betting on collaborations with strategic allies like RACE. We firmly believe that investing in the training and talent of our team is key to offering a differential service, allowing both residents and visitors to enjoy the city knowing they are in the best hands," says Jacobo Domínguez-Blanco, CEO of Vecttor.
Since its creation in 1981, the RACE Driving School, located at the iconic Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE, has established itself as a benchmark in driver training in Spain. With over 200,000 students trained, this institution combines tradition, innovation, and an unwavering focus on mobility and road safety.
