Vectalia has already published the rules to apply for the funds raised at its traditional Welcome to Christmas charity cocktail. This gala organized by the group will be held on Monday, December 2 starting at 8:00 PM at the Maestral restaurant in Alicante.

As every year, the funds raised at the Welcome to Christmas will be entirely donated to one of the non-profit organizations in the province that present a solidarity project that meets the rules published on Vectalia's website. A selection committee will determine in early November which project will benefit from this initiative this year, where each attendee will make a minimum donation of 30 euros. There will also be zero row contributions for those who cannot attend or those who wish to collaborate with this initiative.

In the previous nine editions, the proceeds from this event have been donated to NGOs such as Red Cross, APSA, APNEA, Caritas' Proyecto Veritas, COCEMFE Alicante, the Alicante Multiple Sclerosis Association (ADEMA), Alinur Foundation, Diocesan Caritas Orihuela-Alicante, AODI and San Rafael Center in Santa Faz.

According to Vectalia, last year a record participation and fundraising was achieved for San Rafael Center (40.056€), which allowed for the acquisition of an adapted vehicle aimed at improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.

The evaluation committee values projects that are finalists and have a short execution period. In previous editions, for example, thanks to the 20.700€ raised for Apnea, an aquatic therapy unit for people with disabilities was launched or it was possible to finish paying for an adapted vehicle to transport people who attend the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Alicante daily.

A traditional welcome

The Welcome to Christmas becomes an essential event in Alicante that brings together representatives of civil society, people who collaborate with NGOs, businessmen, politicians and, besides the funds raised, the beneficiary association gains great visibility in the media which allows them to explain their purposes and projects.

Any entity, organization or non-profit association that has been legally constituted and justifies with its application compliance with the requirements listed in the rules published on the corporate website may submit its candidacy to Vectalia's Corporate Social Responsibility department through the email bienvenidanavidad@vectalia.es.

These projects should be oriented towards social activities such as care for disabled people, care for people at risk or in situations of social exclusion, access to health care and education or other similar nature.

The deadline for submitting applications will close on November 1 at 3:00 PM. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. The selection committee that will choose the project is made up of Alicante's mayor Luis Barcala; acting rector of Alicante University Juan Mora; content manager of EPI group Juan Ramón Gil; a representative from San Rafael Center, beneficiary of last year's edition Ana Carratalá; and executive president of Vectalia group Antonio Arias.
