Let the show begin at Baver-Els Antigons! The Special Category commission of the Alicante Bonfires is preparing to ignite the fuse of 'Vanity', an ephemeral and provocative musical where the final fire consumes not only cardboard but also the empty appearances of the digital age.
The artist Paco Torres, with the design of Paco Camallonga, has created 'Vanity', a bonfire that offers a theatrical satire on modern narcissism and the constant need to be seen, followed, and applauded.

On this grand stage set on Nadadora Carmen Soto street, the protagonists are an apparently perfect couple. Their love story seems cinematic, but behind the scenes lies the true script. In their scenes, there is no affection, only strategy; no intimacy, only posturing. They seek only the approval of their audience.

The bonfire turns social media into the backdrop of 'Vanity', the musical. Each post is a dance number, each selfie a meticulously choreographed routine, each statement a rehearsed monologue. But, like every show, there is also an end.
But what happens when the lights go out and the applause fades? In 'Vanity', that moment of uncomfortable silence is witnessed, where the protagonists, like many in real life, are forced to face the emptiness of the image, the loneliness of the character that has consumed the person.

The Baver-Els Antigons bonfire criticizes a society that lives to expose itself, that measures its worth in 'likes', and that pretends tirelessly to maintain a perfect image. A society that, like this bonfire-themed musical, has confused authenticity with spectacle.
