On Wednesday, January 8th, À Punt's most adventurous programme travels to Oregon, a natural gem located in the northwestern United States. At 10:45 PM, Valencians al món will showcase this region, renowned for its landscapes and as the setting for films like The Goonies and The Shining. Our guide will be the reporter Cristina Orts.
Carlos Cuéllar, from Canals, has been living in Oregon for ten years, and with him, we will embark on a tour of several natural sites in the state. We will visit Trillium Lake, an impressive lake surrounded by miles of conifers; then, we will head to Timberline Lodge, the mountain hotel where The Shining was filmed, and finally, we will visit the majestic Multnomah Falls, the tallest in Oregon, with a drop of over 180 meters.

Stefanie Berenguer, from Onil, has been living in Oregon for seven years. We will explore the International Rose Test Garden, one of Portland's most iconic locations. In fact, Portland is known as the City of Roses. We will also discover how an old Boeing 727 from the Greek airline Olympic Airways has been transformed into a unique home.
Cristina Torregrossa, from Benetússer, has been living here for 21 years. We will visit the school where she is a bilingual teacher, and she will talk to us about education in the United States. We will also meet her husband, Francisco Martín, from Alfafar, who will show us his particular passion: volunteering at the sheriff's office in Corvallis and managing traffic. Next, we will visit a gun shop, where we will discuss gun ownership in the country and practice shooting in true American style.
Carolina Sánchez, from Elche, has been living in Oregon for two years. This native of Elche works in the tree division of the Portland City Council, so we will accompany her as she counts trees. During our stay in Portland, we couldn't miss visiting Music Millennium, one of the most renowned music stores in the United States.
Álvaro Maruenda, from Valencia, has been living in Oregon for two years. With him, we will visit most of the locations from the film The Goonies: Ecola Park, one of the meeting points for the protagonists; the prison where the feared character Jake Fratelli is held; and the beaches where the Goonies search for One-Eyed Willy's treasure, a place that offers unparalleled beauty and has been etched in the memory of all the film's fans.
