The Valencian Community Sets Historical Record for Tourists and Foreign Spending in April

Another record for foreign tourism in the Valencian Community, which has recorded its best April in history. Never before has this period ended with such a high number of foreign travellers and their corresponding expenditure.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) regarding Tourist Movements at the Border (Frontur) and the Tourist Expenditure Survey (Egatur), the Community has approached 1.12 million international tourists during the fourth month of the year. This is the highest figure for this month and an 11.2% increase compared to 2024.

Moreover, each foreign tourist spent 1,122 euros in the Valencian Community in April, 2% more than in the same month of 2024, with the average daily expenditure per person reaching 138 euros, a 3.9% year-on-year increase, and an average trip duration of 8.1 days.

The growth in average spending has driven total foreign expenditure to 1.253 billion euros, 13.4% more than the same period last year. Both figures make the previous month the best April in history for the Community in terms of foreign tourism.

The Minister of Tourism, Marián Cano, has expressed her satisfaction with these results and highlighted "the notable growth being recorded in 2025." In fact, the year has seen record numbers of international traveller arrivals for the past three months.

The figures "reflect positive progress and demonstrate that our strategy is working," Cano values, noting that the ministry continues to work to make tourism the great economic engine of the Community throughout the year.

"The increase in foreign tourism in the first months of the year is a clear sign that we are moving in the right direction," indicated the minister, who noted that the good results recorded during Easter, celebrated in April, have also helped achieve historic results.

Regarding the accumulative figures for the first four months of the year, the Community received a total of 3,244,153 foreign tourists, 7.1% more than in the same period of 2024. During these months, spending reached 3.993 billion euros, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period last year.
