After three years, the relationship between Iñaki Urdangarín and Ainhoa Armentia continues to strengthen. In 2025, the couple took a significant step by welcoming the new year with the ex-handball player's four children: Juan, Miguel, Pablo, and Irene. This inevitable gathering was exclusively documented by Lecturas magazine, the same publication that unveiled the romance between the former son-in-law of King Juan Carlos and his colleague while he was still married to Infanta Cristina.

Thus, Urdangarín was able to gather his family in Vitoria to bid farewell to 2024, although the publication notes that the days were "filled with tension and discomfort." Despite the fact that Iñaki and Infanta Cristina's children have come to terms with their parents' romantic situation, they remain aware of their mother's displeasure, who reportedly tried to avoid this meeting during the divorce negotiations.

The images show how the young nephews of King Felipe spent a day in the countryside with their father and his girlfriend, along with other relatives. The group went hiking in the mountains of Vitoria. However, none of the published photos show interaction between Ainhoa and Iñaki's children, and according to the magazine's account, they maintained a certain distance from her at all times. "There was only one moment when Juan, the eldest, sat near the Basque woman, but he was chatting with his father," Lecturas explains.

After the nature walk, the entire group dined at a local farmhouse. Afterwards, the Urdangarín siblings left on their own, joking among themselves and smiling broadly, as they departed together in a car, while Iñaki and Ainhoa left in another vehicle.

King Juan Carlos' Birthday

In any case, this marks another milestone in the normalization of the relationship between Infanta Cristina's ex-husband and the Basque woman, who is increasingly integrated into her boyfriend's family. Indeed, the couple has visited one of Urdangarín's sisters in Girona on more than one occasion, and they have also been seen spending time with the former handball player's mother, Claire Liebaert.

After their stay in Vitoria, Iñaki's children traveled to Abu Dhabi to celebrate their grandfather King Juan Carlos' birthday. The former monarch has resided in the UAE capital since August 2020, although his visits to Spain are becoming more frequent. On January 5th, the emeritus king turned 87 and was able to enjoy the company of most of his grandchildren, who traveled together, as exclusively reported by Semana magazine. Pablo, Miguel, and Irene Urdangarín were accompanied by their respective partners, Johanna Zott, Olimpia Beracasa, and Juan Urquijo. Their cousin, Victoria Federica, also flew with them.

Photographs attest to the good relationship between the siblings, their partners, and cousin Marichalar, who posed for a group photo before checking in their luggage. The images also dispel doubts about how the young people traveled to Abu Dhabi, after speculation that they might have flown on a private jet funded by their grandfather.

In the Emirates, they were already awaited by their mothers, Infantas Elena and Cristina, who spent New Year's Eve with their father, and presumably, the emeritus king's eldest grandson, Froilán, who has also been living in the Arab country for a year.
