Unprecedented Security Reinforcement for the Cremà: More Police, Volunteer Firefighters, and Strategic Coordination

On Tuesday, 24th June, the night of Sant Joan will feature a reinforced and highly coordinated security operation, aimed at ensuring the safety of both locals and tourists during the cremà of the Hogueras 2025.

The Security Councillor, Julio Calero, explained to TodoAlicante that the operational system will be similar to previous years, with a strategic distribution of fire teams based on the category, location, and potential risks surrounding each bonfire.

In this regard, one or two teams will be deployed per district, in addition to reinforcement units, both firefighters and police. These will operate in three shifts: at midnight, 1:30 am, and 3 am.

Although a 40-minute cremà is anticipated for each bonfire, the operation allows for up to an hour to ensure an efficient response and continue to the next district without delays.

The cremà of the Hogueras 2025 will feature a significantly higher number of police officers compared to previous editions. As for firefighters, the usual number is maintained with a crucial reinforcement: the inclusion of Civil Protection units and volunteer firefighters from other cities and provinces.

"It's a pride to see how they want to participate. I spoke with firefighters from Granada who came a few years ago for training. They told me they would return this year no matter what, and here they are again," stated Calero, visibly pleased.

The Security Councillor highlights his change of perspective during the nit de la cremà of the Hogueras 2025, transitioning from police command to head of the Local Police force. "Now I see it from a broader perspective, with much more responsibility. And, of course, always striving to improve safety."
