Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) and the Public Employees Union (SEP) have demanded explanations from the government team regarding the temporary dismissal of 166 Social Services workers following the conclusion of the Programme Contract. The unions seek to understand the reasons preventing the consolidation of these positions funded by the Conselleria, as well as the timeline for rehiring.

For CCOO, this dismissal increases the workload for the remaining staff, leading to security issues "stemming from tensions that may arise due to delays in citizen services." They have also requested information on the current status of this hiring process and the expected timeline for permanently filling the positions. Consequently, they are calling for an urgent meeting with the councillors of Human Resources and Social Welfare.

Meanwhile, SEP believes the dismissal "severely compromises the ability to provide essential primary care services" and that the "overload" will "directly and significantly affect the quality of care provided to citizens." The union has reminded that they requested the creation of new positions in the Social Welfare area in the 2024 budget to meet legally established ratios.

Furthermore, they insist that union delegates "requested the inclusion of an item on the agenda of the aforementioned unitary representation body, urging the government team to proceed with the creation and consolidation of all positions corresponding to the Programme Contract colleagues." However, they report that, despite unanimous approval by the Personnel Board, "we have not received any response to date."

For all these reasons, SEP has requested information on the reasons that "have prevented the consolidation of jobs funded through the Programme Contract, in accordance with the Social Services Law." They have also demanded information on the expected date for signing the new Programme Contract and the timeline for the incorporation of new colleagues assigned to the Programme Contract."
