Union conflict at the Alicante Town Hall, not between the workers' representatives and the government team, but among themselves. The major unions, SEP-CV and CC OO, demanded on Tuesday the opening of an 'investigation file' following the 'interested leak' of the agreement for professional career advancement to CSIF, Fesep, and UGT before the Local Government Board meeting where it was approved.
Representatives of SEP-CV and CC OO, Mariano Postigo and Nacho Falcó respectively, presented an email from CSIF, Fesep, and UGT dated May 20 at 14:48, revealing the Local Government Board's agreement on professional career advancement. Not only was it an extraordinary meeting, of which they and the municipal groups were unaware the following day, but the communication also included a complete and dissected chart by professional categories.
Postigo accuses of an 'information leak'. Not only due to the speed with which, after the Local Government Board meeting ended, the other unions obtained the entire agreement. According to the SEP spokesperson, the document's metadata is dated 'five hours before' the meeting.
The major representatives in the Town Hall's union elections label these alleged practices as 'harmful to the unions' and 'detrimental and damaging to municipal work'. For this reason, they request this investigation file and reserve 'legal actions' if necessary.
SEP and CC OO remind that both CSIF and UGT voted in favour of the professional career advancement, as approved by the Alicante Town Hall. Conversely, they reject the municipal proposal, considering it 'low' compared to similar municipalities to Alicante.
