UNED Dénia Opens Academic Year in Benidorm

On Thursday, 21st November, the Academic Opening Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year will take place in the assembly hall of Benidorm Town Hall. The programme includes a tribute to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the UNED associated centre in Benidorm.

At 7 PM, the traditional Academic Opening Ceremony will commence with the performance of "Veni Creator Spiritus" by the Choir of Professional Studies Students from the José Pérez Barceló Conservatory in Benidorm. The reading of the previous year's Academic Report will be followed by the inaugural lecture delivered by Dr. Emilio Ambrosio Flores, Professor of Psychobiology at the Faculty of Psychology at UNED, titled 'Psychobiology of Pleasure'.

During the event, the Hammond Foundation awards will be presented, along with recognition for UNED Senior students.

In the speech segment, following the tribute marking the 30 years of the Benidorm centre, speeches will be delivered by the centre's director, Dr. Raquel Martí Signes; Benidorm Town Hall councillor, María Teresa Moreno García-Vera; the President of the Alicante Provincial Council, Antonio Pérez Pérez; and the event will conclude with the Vice-Rector of Associated Centres of UNED, Dr. Jesús de Andrés Sanz.

The university anthem "Gaudeamus Igitur" will bring the academic ceremony to a close.
