Elche's Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Local Police, has unveiled the 2026 Ultrahélike, a long-distance event organised by the Cultural and Sports Association of the Local Police of Elche, scheduled for February 21 next year.

The area councillor, José Antonio Román, announced that registration for a race bib will open on Saturday, June 21, at 12 PM via the website ultrahélike.com.

"We appreciate the efforts of our Local Police in organising this sporting event, where we expect over 2,000 participants in one of the most unique routes across our municipal area," stated Román.

The Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, César Zaragoza, reminded that, like the previous year, the event features two modalities: a 100-kilometre route to be completed within 24 hours, or a 50-kilometre route with a 12-hour limit.

Zaragoza highlighted that this year the event comes with new features because "we have a desire for improvement so that the Ultrahélike becomes a top-level event both nationally and internationally in the ultra-distance scene."

The Sports Director of the Local Police, Senén Ródenas, announced that on the opening day of registration, a total of 2,000 bibs will be offered, 1,500 for the 100K modality and 500 for the 50K. Ródenas reminded that both races will start from Plaza de Baix and finish at Paseo de la Estación "with a route very similar to last year's edition, but with small modifications that we will announce soon."

Meanwhile, María José Aranda, spokesperson for the Local Police of Elche, announced that, as a novelty in 2026, prizes will be awarded to the winners of all categories in the 100K event, with 500 euros for the first place, 200 euros for the second, and 100 euros for the third.

Additionally, Aranda confirmed that the same prices for the bibs will be maintained, being 80 euros for the 100K route and 60 euros for the 50K.
