BMW Turns Real Madrid into the Most Electric Team in the World

BMW has signed its third year of collaboration with Real Madrid to provide vehicles for its squad. This time, the 23 models they have received all feature the DGT Zero label and can be divided into five main families: XM, i7, i5, iX, and iX2.

For the first time, the Bavarian brand has made available the high-performance SUV XM, the first model entirely designed by the sports division since the M1.

This comes with a plug-in hybrid system paired with a V8 gasoline engine delivering 653 horsepower. Nine players from the white team have chosen it for this year.

However, it has been the electric sedans that have taken the bulk of orders, with five opting for the i5, including Carlo Ancelotti, and another five for the large-sized i7.

The cheapest of all these is the BMW iX2 xDrive 30, starting at 58,550 euros. From there, prices increase. The iX xDrive 50 starts at 108,650 euros. The i5 xDrive 40 starts at 79,500 and its sportier version, M60 xDrive, reaches 114,450.

To enter the higher ranges, the i7 xDrive 60 starts at 139,550 euros, but its most powerful version, M70 xDrive, boasts 659 horsepower and costs 187,150 euros. The XM, in its basic version, starts from 129,700.

Adding up all the cars received by Real Madrid players, their total amounts to 2,831,950 euros, but this is considering only starting prices. Depending on the finishes and equipment chosen by the players, this figure could be considerably higher.
