Truman Capote's most comprehensive biography, the author of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and 'In Cold Blood', was written from the incisive questions of another journalist-character of the era, George Plimpton. He sought, like a wild detective from Bolaño, everyone who had shared a moment of the tormented genius's life, portrayed in 'Truman Capote. Remembrances and Confidences of His Friends, Enemies, Acquaintances, and Detractors'. The 48 chapters of the book range from his hometown and arrival in New York to his funeral and the revelation of a "secret" related to why he stopped writing.

In this polyphonic work, published in Spain by Libros del Kultrum on the centenary of the novelist of the unfinished 'Answered Prayers', the voices of stars like Lauren Bacall, Norman Mailer, Gore Vidal, Paul Bowles, John Huston, and Joan Didion are heard. "In truth, she was not able to say anything bad," Plimpton would note after interrogating her.

It is the portrait of an emblem of journalism and fiction, of social ascent under the shadow of the rich and famous, of idealized Hollywood, of the hidden beneath the glitter, including anecdotes with groups like the Rolling Stones. But also of an era of misery, awakening, and initiation, with people from the corner and the bar, losers and survivors, like "Denham Fouts, a fascinating figure, a prostitute, a kind of black angel of the streets of nocturnal Paris," whom Capote frequented.

Ordered by vital milestones, this work of 600 intense pages delves chronologically into Capote's life, and the countless hours of interviews are only outlined based on an abundant reconstruction, with special care to maintain orality. Plimpton met his biographee in 1966 when he interviewed him. Since then, the fascination led to this tribute.
