On New Year's Eve, residents of Alicante will have the option for the first time to return home by TRAM. The public transport service extends its schedule for the New Year celebration with a special service starting on December 31 and continuing into the early hours of January 1. This is the first time this service, already common in Metrovalencia, is being implemented.
Thus, tram lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 will operate beyond their usual hours until after 2 a.m. to facilitate the return home after the New Year's Eve celebrations. Additionally, the start time on January 1 will be earlier, with the first departures around 5 a.m. The planned arrangement will enable connections with TRAM d'Alacant in the towns of Alicante, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, El Campello, La Vila Joiosa, Finestrat, and Benidorm.
The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, stated that "this is an initiative launched this year by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana to improve mobility options in Alicante and nearby towns, aiming to reduce private vehicle trips." He encouraged residents and visitors to use public transport during this period.

He also emphasized that "the public transport in the Comunitat is increasingly improving" with more frequencies, more routes, and more connections. He noted the Generalitat's intention to maintain this special service permanently, as is done annually with Metrovalencia.
During the night of December 31 to January 1, the TRAM schedules and frequencies will vary depending on the lines. On line 1 (Luceros-Benidorm), the extension of the night service after the last regular trains will allow travel to Benidorm from Luceros, stopping at all stations at 12:20 a.m. on January 1. On the same line, a train will depart from Benidorm at 1:41 a.m. heading to Luceros.
On Line 2 (Luceros-Sant Vicent del Raspeig), after the regular service, trams will run every 40 minutes from 11:30 p.m. to 2:10 a.m., from Luceros to Sant Vicent del Raspeig. In the opposite direction, trams will run every 40 minutes from 11:25 p.m. to 2:40 a.m.
On Line 3 (Luceros-El Campello), the extension of the night service after the usual schedule will occur from 1:15 a.m. to 3:10 a.m. towards El Campello, with varying frequencies. Towards Luceros, additional trains will run from 1:10 a.m. to 2:10 a.m.
On Line 4 (Luceros-Plaça de La Corunya), there will also be services every 40 minutes from 11:10 p.m. to 1:50 a.m., from Luceros and between 11:41 p.m. to 2:21 a.m. from Plaça de La Corunya.
Line 9 (Benidorm-Dénia) will maintain its usual schedule as ongoing works between Altea and Calp currently prevent offering a special night service, with an alternative bus service provided for that section.
The trains and trams will resume at 6:11 a.m. on Line 1 from Luceros to Benidorm, stopping at all stations; at 6:29 a.m. from Luceros to Plaça de La Corunya, and at 6:38 a.m. towards Sant Vicent del Raspeig.
Subsequently, at 8:19 a.m., the line towards El Campello will be incorporated. In the opposite direction, services will begin from El Campello towards Luceros at 5:40 a.m. The first train from Benidorm to Alicante will depart at 7:05 a.m., and towards Altea at 6:00 a.m.
On Line 5 (Porta del Mar-Plaça de la Corunya), services will start at 7:18 a.m., and on Line 9 (Dénia-Benidorm), trains will depart from Dénia to Teulada at 5:35 a.m. and to Benidorm at 5:50 a.m. From Benidorm to Denia, the first train will run at 6:00 a.m.
