Sunday was a tense day for Emergency Services with two accidents where three people were injured with varying degrees of severity. The first incident occurred at 3:30 PM this Sunday. Two cyclists were injured in an accident on the N-332 road, in the municipality of Benissa. Both were transported to a hospital, according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU).
The accident took place at kilometre 173 of the N-332 in Benissa. The medical team attended to a 55-year-old man, who was transferred by a SAMU to Dénia Hospital with fractures in his metacarpal, clavicle, and rib.
The other cyclist, a 61-year-old man, was taken by a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance to Dénia Hospital with abrasions on his back, arm, and shoulder.
In the afternoon, on Ausis March Avenue in Elche, another accident involving an eleven-year-old boy and a car resulted in the minor being treated at the Vinalopó Hospital. The CICU was alerted at 5:49 PM. The boy had to be transferred to the medical centre by a SAMU.
