The Town Councils of La Vila Joiosa and Finestrat Celebrate La Cala Festivities

The Town Council of Villajoyosa and the Town Council of Finestrat are celebrating the La Cala festivities together for the first time. Both municipal Departments of Festivities have scheduled various events that will take place over the weekend from September 13th to 15th in the public parking area in front of the beach. The Councilor for Festivities of Villajoyosa, Jaime Santamaría, emphasizes that "this is the path to follow from the Villajoyosa Town Council: working hand in hand with Finestrat to celebrate joint events for the residents living in this area. Following the great successes of jointly organized events such as Halloween, Carnival, and the Three Kings Parade, both municipal departments continue to work together, making the La Cala festivities one of many more initiatives to come."

The celebrations will begin on Friday, September 13th with a popular bar at 6:30 PM organized by the Comissió de Festes 2025 El Balconet de Finestrat, responsible for organizing the Patronal Festivities 2025 and all festive calendar events until August next year. This will be followed by a parade with a music band from Plaça de l'Amfora to Avenida Rosa de los Vientos. To conclude the first day, there will be a live performance by the rock and roll band Black Night, as noted by the Town Hall.

Saturday will be dedicated to children, with attractions from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, including a children's mini-disco at 4:00 PM. During midday and evening, there will be drink services and an afternoon session hosted by DJ Jessie Brooke. At 10:00 PM, it will be time for the group Manolos Plateados with their 'Tribute to El Último de la Fila and Manolo García.' This performance is in collaboration with Institut Valencià de Cultura and Federació Valenciana de Municipis i Províncies. After the concert, there will be a fireworks display followed by Lady DJ Sassy.

The Councilor for Festivities of Finestrat, Sara Llorca, states that "we are very excited about the first La Cala festivities that we are jointly organizing with Villajoyosa's council. We have prepared a varied program of events catering to all audiences. We will have band music, live performances, DJ sessions, inflatables for kids, children's disco... so we expect a great turnout from both La Cala residents and those from both towns as well as tourists." The festivities will feature a Violet Point that will be operational on Saturday night, September 14th, from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM in front of the beach promenade.

On Sunday, the last day of festivities, a charity fun run benefiting Cáritas will be organized. Registrations will begin at 9:30 AM and the race will start at 11:00 AM from the beach promenade, covering three kilometers through the streets of La Cala neighborhood.
