State Security Forces will deploy a special operation consisting of approximately 1,600 officers from the National Police and Civil Guard to ensure safety in the Valencian Community during New Year's Eve celebrations.
The thousand National Police officers will enhance public safety in high-traffic areas to ensure the festivities proceed smoothly, as detailed by the Government Delegation in a statement.
Meanwhile, 600 Civil Guard agents will focus on traffic controls to prevent drug and alcohol consumption while driving.
The operation will take place from 9 PM tonight and will continue until 8 AM tomorrow, involving officers from various units.
The Government Delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, stated that the Security Forces are "prepared" to face a New Year's Eve that will be different as it is marked by the "dana", while expressing confidence that "the public will demonstrate their responsibility as they do every year".
Traffic controls will also be conducted to prevent alcohol and drug consumption. In this regard, the delegate emphasized "the incompatibility of driving with the consumption of alcohol and other narcotic substances". Bernabé reminded that "the consumption of alcohol and drugs can increase the likelihood of a fatal traffic accident by up to 200 times".
