Torrecilla Tempers Expectations on Hércules Signings

"The winter market is a gamble, and I won't disrupt my squad for players of the same level as those I already have," he asserts.

January progresses, yet Hércules has not secured any new signings, and coach Rubén Torrecilla remains unfazed by the lack of fresh faces. The Extremaduran coach has downplayed expectations for this transfer window, although he admits to seeking players for nearly all positions.

"The winter market is a gamble; it's very difficult for signings to succeed as they arrive without match fitness, and the competition waits for no one. However, we are in the market, looking at forwards, centre-backs, full-backs, and midfielders... but I am clear that I will not disrupt my group, my dressing room, to bring in players of the level I already have... if they come, they must make a difference," Torrecilla explained.

Hércules has seen the loan deals for forwards Slavy and Alan Godoy slip away, and sporting director Paco Peña is receiving numerous offers, but none are convincing. Torrecilla would also welcome a defensive midfielder to compete with Mario García, a left-back to challenge Retu, and a centre-back to elevate the defence's level. Currently, no deals are close, although the club is confident that interesting players will become available before the month's end.

In terms of departures, the most likely is striker Marcos Mendes, who has a good reputation in the Segunda RFEF after achieving two promotions with an average of 13 goals per season. Similarly, young players like Cantero, Angong, De Palmas, and Dapaah are also on the way out as they do not want to end the season without playing time, having had a first half without opportunities.

Meanwhile, Hércules has announced it will subsidise part of the cost for each bus of fans travelling to Murcia next Saturday, January 18, to support the team at the Enrique Roca stadium. These buses must be open to any fan wishing to travel to Murcia, although the club will not manage the organisation of these vehicles.

The organiser of each bus must contact the club by Wednesday, January 15, at 5:00 p.m. via email at medios@herculesdealicantecf.com to receive the necessary instructions to access the mentioned subsidy.
