First crisis of the season for Hercules after suffering four consecutive defeats, three in the League and one in the Copa del Rey. The continuity of coach Rubén Torrecilla is not in question, but the Extremaduran sent a very clear message right after the match against Villarreal B (0-2). "We will get through this, I have no doubt. If I had any, I would be the first to step aside, but that's not the case. I am fully committed to my players and convinced that we will turn things around," he stated.

Torrecilla is still upset with the referee, who disallowed a legitimate goal by Montoro in a strategic play that would have been the 1-0. "It must be said that the referee is largely to blame for us not winning, and it must be said loud and clear. If we score that 1-0, Villarreal B leaves Rico Pérez with three goals against. It was a legitimate goal and they took it away from us," he insisted.

The setback against the yellow reserve team marks the worst streak since Torrecilla took over a year and a half ago. The Alicante team added to this past weekend's defeat those suffered in the League against Atlético de Madrid B (1-2) and Fuenlabrada (2-1), as well as the Copa defeat against Ejea (1-0), which resulted in the team's elimination from the tournament.

The previous worst losing streak for the Caceres-born coach since joining the club occurred last January, when Hercules lost consecutively to Espanyol B (2-1), Formentera (0-1), and Torrent (2-1).

Additionally, Hercules has gone five consecutive matches this season without a win, adding to this current poor run a previous draw in Yecla (0-0), leaving them just one match away from equalling the six consecutive games without a win from last season.

This week, Hercules will play two more League matches, one postponed due to the DANA against Marbella on Wednesday (20:30, Rico Pérez), and another League match against Recreativo on Sunday, providing an opportunity to reverse their poor form and soar once again.
