Hercules coach Rubén Torrecilla confirmed on Friday that negotiations with forward Yanis Senhadji are well advanced and, barring any unforeseen issues, he will be the first winter signing for the blue and white team. "He wants to come, he loved the match against Betis B, and he also watched the one against Murcia... there are a few details left, but I trust it will be official soon. He is a young forward, hungry, powerful, and with a goal," explained Torrecilla, who admitted that Hercules was also pursuing forwards Slavy and Alan Godoy. The former went to Villarreal B, and the latter remains at Eldense but is on the radar of Nàstic de Tarragona and Real Murcia, among other teams.
The Hercules coach has insisted once again that technical secretary Paco Peña is looking for players for all positions, not just for the forward and left-back positions. Regarding the latter, Torrecilla publicly defended Retu after the marking error that led to Real Murcia's goal: "We all make mistakes and successes, here no one can raise their hand and say they've never made a mistake. He defended poorly in that action, but he has also done many good things for the team. Retu will always play with me if he is physically and mentally fit," stated the blue and white coach, who, however, left the door open for Abraham del Moral to occupy the left-back position in Marbella.
On another note, Torrecilla publicly praised Marcos Mendes, the first player to pack his bags for Sant Andreu: "He is an exemplary person, and I want to thank him for everything he has given us. He is a tenacious worker, an example for everyone, and a guy who always contributes to the group."
Finally, the Hercules coach downplayed the team's poor numbers away from Alicante. "I prefer to win at home and drop points away rather than the other way around; what we can't do is win all the time because not even the best in the world do, and we are newly promoted," insists Torrecilla. He adds: "What no one can say to me is that I push the team back; we are always brave, we go out to press and attack, but it's not always possible. At Rico Pérez, opponents are under pressure, but away, the story changes. Against Murcia, the same players who scored five against Betis B played, and the approach was the same, but matches change, opponents play, and it's not all that easy."
Hercules will visit Marbella this Saturday (18:00 hours) with the suspension of winger Javi Moreno. Alvarito and Soldevila are vying to take his place, while Del Moral's return to the left-back position at the expense of Retu is expected.
