TodoAlicante.es, a leading digital medium in the province and part of the Vocento Group, is launching the second edition of the Award for the Most 'Alicantina' Barraca Facade. This accolade aims to highlight the unique character and popular traditions of the Hogueras de Alicante.
This initiative, organised in collaboration with the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan, is part of the official events in June. It seeks to showcase the creativity, craftsmanship, and satire that define the barracas with their unique facades during the Hogueras.

The barracas participating in the competition can register with the Federació de Fogueres i Barraques until June 12.
In the first edition of the award, held in 2024, nine barracas participated, with Els Chuanos winning with a facade paying homage to Alicante bullfighting and the remembered figure of Paquito Esplá.
On June 21, the jury, composed of representatives from TodoAlicante.es, the Federació de Fogueres, and the Guild of Artists, will tour the facades of the barracas registered to compete for the award.

The aspects to be evaluated include artistic and constructive quality, originality of the message, satirical content, integration of Alicante elements, and the authorship of a guild artist.
The jury's decision will be announced that same afternoon, and the award ceremony will take place the following day, June 22, during the prize parade from the Town Hall square to the Rambla de Méndez Núñez tribune. The winning barraca will receive a commemorative pennant.
Winning Facade 2024
The barraca Els Chuanos was the winner of the first edition of the Award for the Most 'Alicantina' Barraca Facade by TodoAlicante.es, securing first place with 30 points, the highest score among the nine participating commissions.
The facade captivated the jury by intricately recreating the Alicante bullring, combining two perspectives: one half showed the exterior facade of the bullring, and the other, the interior with the stands.
Also present were bullfighting references with the animal, the matador, and the bullfighting poster paying tribute to the iconic Paquito Esplá.
