"I'll make you dance." This was the shout of a man who fired four shots at another following a late-night argument on a street in Alicante, with one of the bullets striking the victim's back. These actions have resulted in a three-year prison sentence handed down by the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Alicante.
The man has been convicted of attempted homicide, with mitigating factors of damage repair and undue delays, and for illegal possession of firearms, as outlined in the sentence, issued following an agreement between the parties in which the assailant admitted the facts.
The incident occurred on May 27, 2021, when two men engaged in a heated argument late at night on a street in Alicante. After being pushed, the assailant went to his vehicle, retrieved a 'Star' brand semi-automatic pistol, model BM, and fired four times at the victim while shouting "I'll make you dance." The pistol bore the emblem of the Civil Guard, a model that has been standard issue for the force. However, it requires a type A and B license for private use.
One of the bullets struck the victim's left scapula, passing through his body and exiting through the shoulder area. Due to these injuries, the victim took a month to recover, leaving scars on the shoulder and arm.
More than four years later, the Provincial Court of Alicante has sentenced the individual to three years in prison, who has admitted the facts, as well as a prohibition from approaching within 500 meters of the victim. Additionally, he must pay a fine of 1,160 euros for attempted homicide and another 600 euros for illegal possession of firearms.
The sentence issued by the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Alicante is final and cannot be appealed.
