The Port of Alicante welcomed the docking of three NATO warships this Friday. These include the Spanish frigate 'Álvaro de Bazán', the Turkish 'Kemalreis', and the supply ship 'Patiño'.
These vessels will remain at the Alicante facility until April 8, as part of a logistical visit and rest period following naval maneuvers in the Alboran Sea, the Bay of Cádiz, and the Strait of Gibraltar.
The operation was part of the international exercise 'Dynamic Mariner/Flotex 25', organized by NATO and led by Spain as the host nation, in collaboration with Turkey.
During the various days, they executed complex missions such as a combined landing, alongside maneuvers of infiltration and air attack.
After these exercises, the three ships docked at the Port of Alicante, with no intention of holding open days or visits as it is a logistical-operational and rest stop, explained the Naval Command of Alicante.
The SNMG-2, operating under NATO's Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM), consists of various naval platforms, such as frigates, destroyers, and logistic support ships, contributed by different NATO member countries.
The main missions of the multinational SNMG-2 Group include supporting the Alliance's deterrence and defense posture, enhancing maritime situational awareness, preparing to deploy in crisis areas and initiating efforts to contain them, as well as conducting training and exercises to improve interoperability among NATO members.
