They were identified in the statement and did not hesitate to resort to threats and assaults to force the author to completely change it. This is evident from a National Police operation that led to the arrest of three men in Alicante, accused of intimidating a young man to alter the testimony he had given in connection with an investigation opened by the Benidorm Police Station.
The victim's report, who knew the alleged attackers, triggered the police investigation. One of those involved, in addition to recording the attack on his mobile phone, allegedly also threatened a friend of the complainant with a knife, police sources explain.
Days earlier, the assaulted individual received multiple threats through a messaging application. All this was aimed at changing the statement he had made at the police station. This situation caused great nervousness and fear in the victim, the same sources highlight.
During the investigation, officers became aware of a second victim, who was also threatened to modify their statement. Later, he was approached and attacked on the street by a person who, according to the National Police, was closely related to the investigation conducted in Benidorm regarding the other three involved.
Once all the data was collected, officers from the Judicial Police group of the North District Police Station in Alicante carried out a series of checks, fully identifying both the three alleged perpetrators of the first assault and the supposed person responsible for the one suffered by the second victim. All of them are young men aged between 20 and 22.
Finally, the officers located three of the suspects, who were arrested for the alleged commission of crimes of injury and obstruction of justice. The case's authorities continue the investigation to capture the other individual involved in the events.
The arrested individuals were brought before the Alicante duty court of instruction.
