Dacia is a brand that offers dual-fuel gasoline/LPG engines, with over one million vehicles sold in all its markets. These engines offer versatile use and present multiple advantages.
For example, they improve performance compared to the gasoline version, increasing power and torque by 10 HP and 10 Nm, while reducing CO2 emissions by around 10% compared to an equivalent gasoline engine. This makes the carbon footprint less significant and reduces fine particle emissions by 90%.
The so-called 100 ECO-G engine is a technology tested and controlled by Dacia for 14 years. It is an original equipment technology based on Renault Group's expertise, as robust and reliable as a gasoline engine. The integration of LPG in a Dacia vehicle is done directly at the factory. From the design phase, the engine is built to run on LPG. The LPG tank takes up the space of the spare wheel without affecting the gasoline tank or trunk volume. LPG-powered vehicles come with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty like all other vehicles in the range.
It is accessible and economical for customers to use. LPG is one of the most economical fuels on the market (up to 40% cheaper than unleaded 95 gasoline). This translates to savings of about 40 euros per full tank. This technology also allows benefiting from tax advantages.
The vehicle equipped with a dual-fuel gasoline/LPG engine can run on both gasoline and LPG. The two tanks are separate and have an approximate capacity of 50 liters each (depending on the model). Operation is simple: switching from gasoline to LPG, or vice versa, is done manually at the driver's request or automatically when the LPG tank is empty. Additionally, the 100 ECO-G engine allows for a record range that can reach up to 1,500 km.
