Alicante becomes this weekend the venue for the entrance exam to the Civil Guard. A total of 1,164 candidates are testing their knowledge in the province,
at a national level to achieve one of the 2,721 positions for the scale of corporals and guards offered this year.
Of the total number of candidates, 8,319 are women, which represents 31.6% of those who took the exam. In the case of Alicante,
this figure reaches 29.8% of female candidates. In terms of education level, a total of 5,279 examinees with university degrees, master's or doctorates stand out. By age range, half of the candidates are between 20 and 30 years old, with an average age of 28.

The opposition phase to join the Civil Guard is divided into four tests: knowledge, physical,
personal interview and medical examination. Alicante is one of the venues for the knowledge test, which is among the 19 located in 12 autonomous communities. Among them are Ávila, Baeza, Balearic Islands, Cádiz, Gijón, Granada, Las Palmas, León, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Mérida, Murcia, Seville, Tenerife, Valencia, Vigo and Zaragoza.
Before this first knowledge test, candidates have completed the first competition phase,
in which each candidate's merits have been evaluated against the minimum requirements necessary to participate in these selection tests.
Some of the necessary requirements to participate in the Civil Guard entrance exams are being between 18 and 40 years old, Spanish nationality,
having no criminal record
and having at least a compulsory secondary education degree.
