A drug dealer hid 20 kilos of methamphetamine in his vehicle. He did so in a double bottom that was released by activating a specific combination of buttons via a cable located on the car floor. The Civil Guard caught him at the port of Dénia, and the judge has sent him to prison, according to the Armed Institute.

The arrest occurred when agents from the Fiscal and Borders detachment of the Civil Guard noticed a car that raised their suspicions. After inspecting it and identifying its sole occupant, they decided to examine it more thoroughly and found a hidden system with a complex electronic opening mechanism.

The officers, after analyzing the structure, discovered that by activating a specific combination of buttons with a cable located on the car floor, a metal hatch was released under the passenger seat, concealing a compartment where several vacuum-sealed bags filled with a white powder were stored. It was methamphetamine: 19.6 kilos.

In addition to the drugs, both the vehicle and 1,125 euros in cash were seized. The driver was brought before the Court of Instruction number 2 of Dénia, which ordered his provisional imprisonment without bail.

The Civil Guard continues its investigations to determine the origin and final destination of the narcotics, and further actions related to this case are not ruled out.

Weeks earlier, at the same checkpoint, the Civil Guards seized more than 12 kilos of hashish pollen hidden in another vehicle bound for the Balearic Islands. Due to their suspicions, they inspected the car and detected a double bottom where the narcotic substance was found.

On this occasion, the vehicle and 300 euros were seized, and the driver was arrested and brought before the court, resulting in his imprisonment.
