Renault has announced the opening of orders for the "Five" version of its new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, positioning itself as the most accessible option in the range with a starting price of €24,950.
This model, designed for urban and suburban use, is equipped with a 95 HP motor and a 40 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 312 kilometres.
It retains the advantages of the AmpR Small platform, including the multi-link rear axle. It is equipped with a 70 kW (95 HP) motor and 215 Nm associated with a 40 kWh battery. This configuration allows a WLTP range of up to 312 km, ideal for urban and suburban use. Charging is done via an 11 kW AC charger, going from 15% to 80% in 2 hours and 37 minutes. In this case, the charger does not feature V2G technology.
For those seeking more versatility without opting for a high-end version, a new option will be added in July: a 52 kWh battery in the evolution version. It will offer up to 410 km of WLTP range and dual charger: 11 kW bidirectional AC and 100 kW DC to recharge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The equipment includes automatic climate control and a heat pump. The V2L (vehicle-to-load) function to power electrical devices up to 3,700 W will be available as an option.
In this five version, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric offers the advantages of electric driving, such as the immediate torque available that facilitates acceleration and overtaking. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds, with a top speed of 130 km/h. Thanks to its multi-link rear axle and low centre of gravity, it maintains all the agility and driving pleasure characteristic of the range. Its reduced turning radius of 10.3 metres is especially useful in the city.
Inside, it features a dual openR screen: a 7-inch one for the instrument panel and another 10-inch multimedia screen. The system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and updates automatically over the air (FOTA). The equipment includes two front USB-C ports, full LED headlights, manual air conditioning, electric parking brake, and a 60/40 split rear seat.
The complete range, from this "five" version to the Roland-Garros, with different engines and battery capacities, aims to adapt to the needs and budgets of each customer. Thus, it has five trim levels (five, evolution, techno, iconic Cinq, and Roland-Garros). The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is manufactured in Europe, at the Ampere plant in Douai (France) located in the ElectriCity hub.
