This is a Monument: Mahou to Install a Luminous Sculpture at Alicante's Hogueras

Many times the hogueras are mistakenly called monuments. These ephemeral works of art are born as a bonfire and burn as such, respecting tradition. The clear distinction will be seen from the night of June 17 on the Esplanade with the installation of a luminous sculpture by Mahou.

The brewery, the official sponsor of the Hogueras de Alicante, will place this interactive element in the very "heart" of the city, on this promenade by the sea. The installation will take place next to the Canalejas monument to "ignite the start of the Festivities."

The 'Enciende Alicante' sculpture by Mahou will react to the pulse of those who approach it, offering an artistic experience and sensory journey that seeks to reflect the shared sentiment that unites an entire city with everything that makes it beat during its Fogueres.

The installation will be inaugurated at 00:30 on the night of Tuesday, June 17 to Wednesday, June 18, in a public event featuring the 'bellea del foc', Adriana Vico, and her 'dames d'honor'. They are the "guardians of the spirit of the Festival."

This symbolic lighting aims to welcome the Hogueras de Alicante and will remain in place until June 24, activated during nighttime hours. With this, they hope that locals and visitors will come to interact and experience the Mahou experience.

'Enciende Alicante' will be a play of lights, smoke, and sound that will respond to the pulse of each visitor. Through sensors, each interaction will light up a part of the installation. A living metaphor of how, together, the people of Alicante ignite the soul of the Hogueras.

This action is part of Mahou's campaign as the official sponsor of the Fogueres de Sant Joan 2025, built on the values of local pride and shared celebration. Alongside this installation, the brand has launched a special edition signed by Alicante artist Antonyo Marest.
