The Dacia Sandero remains at the top as the best-selling model in Spain, after registering 2,649 units (+93.1%), surpassing in the monthly ranking the Tesla Model 3 which climbs for the first time this month to the second position of the table, ahead of the Renault Clio.
On its side, Toyota remains for another month as the best-selling brand in Spain, with 6,735 units (+17.2%), according to data from manufacturers' associations (Anfac), dealers (Faconauto), and sellers (Ganvam) published this Monday.
The 'top 3' of the best-selling brands in the ninth month of the year were completed by Renault, with 5,434 units (+47.3%) and Volkswagen, with 4,769 units (+16.6%), followed by Hyundai, with 4,755 units (+32.3%), and Kia, which was the fifth best-selling brand of the month with 4,168 units (-9.7%).
The ranking of the 10 most popular brands in Spain was closed, in this order, by Seat (4,090 units), Dacia (4,086 units), Mercedes (3,633 units), BMW (3,468 units), and Peugeot (3,185 units).
In the first nine months of the year, Toyota also consolidates as the brand that registered the most vehicles in Spain, with a total of 69,451 cars, followed by Volkswagen (48,574 units), Seat (48,187 units), Hyundai (47,641 units), and Renault (44,355 units).
Kia occupied the sixth position among the best-selling brands in Spain this year with 44,207 units, while next were Peugeot (40,526 units), Dacia (39,398 units), Mercedes (34,687 units), and BMW (32,439 units).
The Dacia Sandero is the best-selling car in September 2024, thus maintaining its crown as the most commercialized model in Spain, with a total of 2,649 units sold, a 93.1% increase year-on-year. The surprise comes from the American electric car brand Tesla, which places its Model 3 in second place in the Spanish market in the ninth month of the year.
Thus, the Tesla Model 3, first on electric car lists, was the second model with the highest number of registrations in Spain in September 2024, with 2,221 units (+4.254.9% year-on-year), and closing the podium is the Renault Clio with 1.662 cars registered, a 76.1% increase compared to September 2023.
The 'top 5' is completed by Toyota C-HR with 1.645 units and a year-on-year increase of 15.4%; and Hyundai Tucson (1.379 units; +28.5%).
The Peugeot 2008 (1.351 units), Kia Sportage (1.332 units), Toyota Yaris Cross (1.326 units), Austral (1.322 units) and Ibiza (1.306 units) complete September's top ten best-selling models.
In cumulative terms for the year so far, Dacia Sandero is the best-selling car nationwide with 24.026 units (+22.2%), while Toyota Corolla remains for another month in second place with 16.700 units (+18.6%), and Seat Ibiza took third place with 16.280 units sold; a rise of 32.3%.
Closing out the list of top ten best-selling vehicles in the national market for these nine months are Hyundai Tucson (15.812 units), Seat Arona (15.693 units), MG ZS (15.004 units), Renault Clio (14.378 units), Kia Sportage (13.858 units), Peugeot 2008 (13.741 units) and Nissan Qashqai (13.111 units).
