94.4% of users consider the service of this means of transport as 'satisfactory'

The Alicante Tram would receive a high distinction if it were to be graded. This is the clear opinion of the daily users of this transport system across the province. Customer Satisfaction Indices, based on 1,502 interviews with users over 15 years old, give an overall service rating of 8.54 out of 10 for this FGV infrastructure.

In this regard, 94.4% of the interviewed passengers consider the service provided by the Alicante Tram across all its lines as 'satisfactory'; while 3.8% rate it as 'normal' and only 1.8% express 'dissatisfaction' with its operation.

By lines, the best-rated with an outstanding score is L5, connecting Alicante's Puerta del Mar with San Juan beach. Users have given it 9.08 out of 10. It is followed by L3 between Luceros and El Campello with 8.87; L4 between Luceros and San Juan beach with 8.63; L2 between Luceros and San Vicente with 8.48; L1 between Luceros and Benidorm with 8.38; and L9 between Benidorm and Dénia with 8.34 points.

The Customer Satisfaction Index report for the Alicante Tram analyses 19 variables valued by travellers, related to the service provided by FGV in the metropolitan area and the Marinas.

What do people like most about the Alicante Tram?

The service aspects that received the highest ratings from Alicante Tram customers are signage (9.12); station accessibility (9.11); train accessibility (9.10); price (9.01); and journey safety (9).

It is noteworthy that the price of transport tickets, traditionally ranked lowest in various estimates, is now the second-best-rated attribute.

This situation is not unrelated to the successive public transport savings initiatives launched by the Generalitat to promote sustainable mobility, alleviate citizens' expenses, and combat the effects of inflation with current specific measures of free travel for those under 31 and 50% fares for other passengers.

Among the less appreciated factors are the lack of overcrowding in the units (6.03); security and presence of security guards (7.76); frequency of service (7.99); conditioning (8.14); and the absence of abrupt movements during the journey (8.47). Despite being the variables indicating less acceptance, all of them register 'notable' values, except the last one, which is rated as 'good'.

Who travels on the Alicante Tram?

This report also shows the profile of the Alicante Tram traveller. The latest edition indicates that women make up 60.6% of the total number of travellers, compared to 39.4% of men.

Regarding age, the average is around 33.1 years, with the most significant population segment being those aged 20 to 29, at 36%, followed by those aged 30 to 49 at 26.5%; those under 20 at 19.6%, and finally, those aged 50 or older at 17.8%.

The dominant socioeconomic level is 'medium', with 60.3% of travellers, followed by 'medium-high' at 16.4%; 'medium-low' at 12.1%; 'high' at 9.5%; and 'low' at 1.7%.

Regarding occupation, 52.3% of Alicante Tram customers are employees; 34.8% are students; 5.9% are retired or pensioners; 5.5% are unemployed; 1.7% are self-employed entrepreneurs; and 1.5% declare they are dedicated to household tasks.
