Approximately 13,000 three-year-old students will be enrolled in the province of Alicante for the 2025/26 academic year in Infant education. Among them are those automatically transitioning from two-year-old classrooms, and new admissions, which constitute the majority (10,328 students). Of all these, 97.51% have secured a place in their first-choice schools during the admission process, as announced by the Department of Education this Wednesday.

In the province of Alicante, the top three schools in terms of applications relative to available places have been CEIP La Condomina in Alicante; as well as the private centre San Rafael-Salesianos, and CEIP Ferrández Cruz, both located in Elche.

Application of Educational Freedom

This upcoming academic year will also be the first to implement the linguistic model proposed by the new Educational Freedom Law, allowing families to choose the base language for their children's education. The Department of Education reminds that for three-year-old students, this choice had to be made during the admission process via adminova.gva.es.

Thus, families have been able to choose the same school twice with different base languages (Valencian and Spanish). As a result, data collection has expanded to four options, which in most cases correspond to two schools requested in both languages.

Following the admission process, 996 units will be catalogued in Valencian Base Language (56.43% of the total) and 769 units in Spanish Base Language (43.57% of the total). Meanwhile, in Spanish-speaking areas, 258 units will be catalogued in Spanish Base Language (99.23% of the total) and 2 units in Valencian Base Language (0.77% of the total).

In overall figures for the entire Community, 50.72% of the units for three-year-old Infant education will have Spanish as the base language, and 49.28% will have Valencian.

After the publication of the final lists, families will need to complete the online registration at adminova.gva.es from 18th to 27th June, while those wishing to do so in person can do it from 18th June to 2nd July.
