The Sundays and holidays on which shops in the province of Alicante will open are now known. The Valencian Commerce Observatory approved this Thursday, following a meeting, the 11 days on which these establishments will be allowed to open during 2025, as stipulated by regional regulations.

In the meeting, chaired by the Minister of Commerce, Nuria Montes, and accompanied by the Director General of this same area, Maribel Sáez, these dates were established and it was agreed to propose them to the Conselleria, which will be responsible for approving them.

The proposed dates by the organization on which shops will open are as follows:

January 5, 2025 – Sunday. Accumulation of holidays and Epiphany campaign.

January 12, 2025 – Sunday. Winter sales.

April 18, 2025 - Good Friday. Increased tourist influx.

April 20, 2025 – Easter Sunday. Increased tourist influx.

It should be noted that the observatory is attached to the Conselleria and is a collegiate body that provides consultation and advice on commerce matters. Among its functions is proposing, without binding authority, the 11 Sundays and holidays whose opening is authorized annually by the Conselleria.

The Valencian Commerce Observatory is made up of representatives from business organizations in the commercial distribution sector, including SMEs; chambers of commerce; organizations defending consumer rights; municipal markets; trade unions; the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP); and various bodies of the Generalitat.
