These are the municipalities in Alicante under yellow alert for heat this Monday

Las Hogueras de San Juan Alicante de este año 2025 van a ser las más cálidas desde que hay registros en Alicante y, además, «con diferencia», según la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet). Los dos últimos días superarán en 4.2 ºC el promedio normal y en 1.3 ºC a las de 2005, que hasta ahora eran las más cálidas.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), this year's Hogueras de San Juan Alicante will be the hottest on record, and by a significant margin. The last two days will exceed the normal average by 4.2 ºC and surpass the 2005 temperatures, which were previously the highest, by 1.3 ºC.

In fact, according to the agency, these will be the hottest not only at the Ciudad Jardín observatory, which has records dating back to 1939, but also in the previous historical records in the city (Sismológico, Instituto, and Jardín del Asilo), thus, since at least 1856.

Therefore, this Monday, a public holiday in Alicante, will be a very hot day with maximum temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius. This temperature threshold has triggered the yellow alert across the entire coastline of the province from north to south.

This warning from the Generalitat Valenciana's Department of Emergencies includes several regions, from Vega Baja to Marina Alta, and of course, L'Alacantí.

In Vega Baja, the affected municipalities are: Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada, San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja, Almoradí, Rojales, San Fulgencio, Jacarilla, Benejúzar, Daya Vieja, Callosa de Segura, Granja de Rocamora, Catral, Dolores, San Fulgencio, San Isidro, Benferri, Albatera.

In the Bajo Vinalopó region, the affected municipalities are Crevillent, Elche, Santa Pola, Hondón de los Frailes, Hondón de las Nieves, Aspe, Novelda, Monforte del Cid.

Almost the entire L'Alacantí region will be under alert. These are the municipalities: Alicante, Sant Joan, Mutxamel, Agost, San Vicente del Raspeig, El Campello, Busot, and Aigües.

In the Marina Baja region, the localities are Villajoyosa, Orxeta, Relleu, Finestrat, Benidorm, La Nucía, Sella, Altea, Callosa d'en Sarrià, Castell de Guadalest, Bolulla, Benifato, Polop, L'Alfàs del Pí.

In the Marina Alta: Calpe, Benissa, Jalón, Llíber, Tárbena, Senija, Teulada, Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Xàbia, Gata de Gorgos, Dénia, Pedreguer, Benidoleig, Beniarbeig, Tormos, Ondara, Els Poblets, Parcent, Murla, Orba, Tormos, Sagra, Rafol d'Almúnia, Sanet i Negrals, Benimeli, El Verger.

In El Comtat: Alfafara, Muro de Alcoi, Gaiana, Benilloba, Gorga, Benillup, Benimarfull, Almudaina, Planes, Beniarrés, Millena, Gaianes, Vall de Gallinera, Lorcha, Vall d'Ebo, Viall de Laguar, Famorca, Benilloba, and l'Orxa.
