These are the holidays and long weekends in the 2026 work calendar for Alicante and the Community
The Consell has approved the decree with twelve non-working days for the entire region, with June 24th as a non-recoverable holiday

Alicante and the Community have finalized the work calendar for 2026. The schedule will include 12 non-working holidays, all of which are paid and non-recoverable.
The Consell's plenary session approved the decree on Tuesday, establishing the 2026 work calendar, with June 24th declared as the regional holiday for the Fogueres de Sant Joan.
The calendar has undergone the necessary preliminary report from the Tripartite Council for the Development of Labour Relations and Collective Bargaining in the Valencian Community.
Thus, within the territorial scope of the Valencian Community for the year 2026, 12 holidays are declared.
By month, January will have two holidays for New Year's and Epiphany, on the 1st and 6th; while March will have Saint Joseph marked in red on the work calendar.
Regarding Easter, the Consell has approved Good Friday, April 3rd, and Easter Monday, April 6th, as holidays; while May will have its first day marked for Labour Day.
Additionally, June 24th will be a non-recoverable holiday for Saint John, the main day of the Hogueras festival in Alicante. Summer will also have a holiday on August 15th for the Assumption of the Virgin.

The list of holidays continues with a long weekend in October for the 9th - Valencian Community Day - and the 12th - National Day of Spain - which fall on a Friday and Monday, respectively.
For Christmas, the holidays in Alicante and the Community are December 8th, for the Immaculate Conception, and December 25th.
School holidays in Alicante during 2026
In addition to the regional holidays, the days proposed by the Municipal School Council for 2026 in Alicante are added. These include April 1st, Holy Wednesday, to facilitate participation in Easter; as well as June 19th during the Hogueras, advancing the summer holidays.
Regarding changes, the body has proposed moving April 28th, Saint Vincent's Day, to the 16th of the same month to celebrate the pilgrimage of the Santa Faz of Alicante 2026.
