These are the Best Easter Cakes in Alicante

Alicante has already chosen the best Easter cakes to sweeten the Monday following Easter Sunday. Some of the finest pastry shops in the province participated in the competition organised by the Guild of Bakers, Facpyme, and the City Council to determine which ones adhere to the original recipe of this typically Alicante sweet. The event took place last Saturday during the commercial revitalisation days in the San Gabriel neighbourhood.

The jury responsible for selecting the best cakes was composed of master bakers and pastry chefs, representatives from Facpyme, the Alicante City Council, as well as experts in traditional gastronomy and pastry.

The pastry shops Delicias de Juan and Vegan Bombon without gluten, in the traditional category, and Pastelería Rico and JM García without gluten in the innovative category, have been chosen as the best Easter cakes in Alicante 2025.

The Councillor for Commerce and Hospitality, Lidia López, who was part of the jury, expressed her gratitude for the participation: "Both the quality, taste, and design and presentation were of an exceptional level, and once again it is evident that in Alicante we also have the best bakers and pastry chefs who create cakes that are a hallmark and emblem of our province for their quality and taste."

Hundreds of families attended the leisure and shopping initiative in the San Gabriel neighbourhood. Councillor Lidia López was very pleased with the turnout because "these are successful days that we organise to promote economic development and commerce in the neighbourhoods and bring it closer to the citizens."
