The Elda City Council has launched two lines of aid for businesses affected by the construction works of the 'Three Avenues' plan: these are Alfonso XIII, Olimpiadas, and Filipinas. The subsidies are divided into two packages, with a total of 50,000 euros to be distributed among the applicant establishments.

The first package of these aids can be applied for until June 25. The subsidy aims to "mitigate" the effects that the redevelopment works of this plan, located in one of Elda's most important axes, may have had on commercial activity.

Likewise, businesses and hospitality establishments can apply for the second additional aid package until July 31. This is aimed at encouraging activity, as well as improving and modernising the commercial image of the three avenues.

The axis formed by the avenues Alfonso XIII, Olimpiadas, and Filipinas is one of the city's most important commercial areas, with more than 75 establishments located along an axis that is over a kilometre long.

This plan, endowed with 50,000 euros, includes aids of up to 1,200 euros per commercial establishment. "They respond to the needs of businesses and hospitality venues," being an "example of the local government's commitment to the commercial and business fabric," detailed the Councillor for Economic Development of Elda, Lorena Pedrero.

With these works, the aim is to "consolidate" the area of the 'Three Avenues' "as a commercial and civic axis, and to promote a brand image that highlights the personal touch of each business, proximity, accessibility, and improvement of the public space," also insisted the Councillor for Commerce, Silvia Ibáñez.

This aid plan has been launched by the City Council through the Elda Local Development Institute (Idelsa), where information for interested businesses and establishments is available on its website.

Aids for the works on the 'Three Avenues'

The redevelopment works were carried out between February 1 and August 12, 2024, on Olimpiadas and Filipinas avenues, as well as from June 1, 2024, to January 17, 2025, on Alfonso XIII Avenue. These dates include the justification for these aids for businesses, whose expenses must be included in the application.

Justifiable expenses include self-employed fees, rental receipts for premises, loan interest for the acquisition of premises, salaries and social security contributions of hired workers who carry out their work in the affected businesses, insurance policy receipts covering contingencies related to the economic activity carried out, and all supply expenses related to electricity, water, and mobile telephony incurred and paid during the construction period.

Aids to implement the 'Three Avenues' brand

Regarding the aids aimed at implementing the 'Three Avenues' commercial brand, justifiable expenses are those related to actions carried out on physical elements of commercial establishments, consisting of screen printing, vinyl, and digital printing of the brand.

In this way, four categories of subsidisable expenses are specified: consumable elements, such as bags, napkins, flyers, etc.; exterior elements, such as signage; urban furniture: rigid or canvas enclosures, umbrellas, planters, etc.; and general furniture.
