The entry-level SUV in Hyundai's lineup, the Bayon, is better in every way for 2024. First, its design. Sharper and more distinctive, a front LED DRL (Daytime Running Lights) bar has been integrated to create a Seamless Horizon lighting signature. The shape and pattern of the front bumper, as well as the radiator grille, are the most striking features at the front. At the rear, a new bumper and arrow-shaped lights complete a rounded design.

Inside, spacious and well-lit, we find a very technological visual field. There is a standard 4.2-inch LCD panel and a 10.25-inch audiovisual navigation screen. While the new Bayon continues to offer features that were already popular in the previous version, such as the configurable 10.25-inch digital cluster with different graphics depending on the driving mode, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charging.

Two USB-C ports - one at the front and one at the rear - even facilitate simultaneous charging of the latest technological devices. The front USB-A port also allows data transfer, enabling occupants to connect their phone to the vehicle's infotainment system.

Other notable details include a 411-litre boot and a range of semi-autonomous driving functions. The smallest member of Hyundai's SUV family is equipped with many features, including lane-following assist and forward collision-avoidance assist. This function includes detection of cars, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Under the hood, the Bayon can be equipped with either a 79 HP petrol engine or a 100 HP mild hybrid, paired with either a manual or 7-speed automatic transmission; with prices starting from €23,455.

The best thing about this latest engine is that it bears the ECO label from Spain's DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic), with all the associated benefits. It is even more efficient and comfortable on the road. Capable of accelerating confidently in situations where you need extra thrust, it is very practical when parking and manoeuvring in the city due to its compact dimensions. In the case of the petrol variant, the latest features are also present, although with slightly less power, which is noticeable but not overly so.
