Tesla, the renowned vehicle manufacturer, has fallen out of the 'top 10' list, registering only 268 units in January, a 75.5% decrease compared to January of the previous year.
In fact, the Model 3 from the American manufacturer, which was the best-selling electric car in Spain in 2024 with 11,043 registrations (+80.56%), recorded only 130 units in the first month of 2025, an 82.36% drop from January of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the other model from Elon Musk's brand, which ranked second last year with 5,495 registrations (-19.5%), the Model Y, registered 129 units in January, a 62.39% decrease compared to the same month in 2024.
The Kia EV3 starts 2025 as the best-selling electric vehicle in Spain in January, with 417 registrations, followed by the BYD Dolphin, which registered 394 units (+1,025.7%), and in third place, the Dacia Spring, which sold 374 cars last month (+434.29%), according to data provided on Monday by the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac).
The 'top 5' of the best-selling cars in this segment during January is completed by the Citroën C3, with 250 registrations, and the BYD Atto 3, with 234 units registered, a 4.67% increase.
The rest of the list is closed by the Renault 5, entering its debut year in the 'top 10' (162 units), the Mercedes EQA Class (159), the Renault Scenic (150), the MINI MINI (146), and the Peugeot 2008 (139).
Regarding plug-in hybrids (PHEV), the top spot last month was taken by the Toyota C-HR, registering 630 units. It was followed in the top three by the BYD Seal-U, with 391 units, and the Mercedes GLC Class, with 384 units (-9.65%).
In the 'top 5' of PHEV registrations in Spain in January, the Ford Kuga, with 254 units sold, a 47.67% increase compared to the same month last year, and the Hyundai Tucson, with 207 units registered, an 11.89% year-on-year increase, were also found.
The list of the 10 best-selling plug-in hybrids in January 2025 included the MG EHS, with 178 units (40.16%), the Mercedes GLA Class, with 11,998 units (+45.08%); the Cupra Formentor, with 164 (-55.19%); the Mercedes GLE Class, with 152 (+74.71%); and the Lexus NX, with 147 (+157.89%).
