A resident of Elda faces fines of up to €2,000 for disturbances caused to other tenants in his building during a party held last Saturday that continued into the early hours of the morning. Officers from the Local Police of Elda also filed a report against the same individual for disrespecting an officer of the law.

The incidents began at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday when officers first visited a residence on Avenida Alfonso XIII following calls from several neighbours complaining about the noise from shouting and loud music in an apartment. Upon arrival, the officers confirmed that the noise was audible from the entrance hall, but it ceased when they knocked on the apartment door, although the occupants did not open it.

Half an hour later, the police returned to the same building after receiving further calls from residents, once again finding that the music and shouting could be heard from the street. They then requested the presence of the neighbour responsible for the disturbances.

The tenant, instead of cooperating with the Local Police officers, was aggressive and threatening. Consequently, under the Regulatory Ordinance of Civility and Citizen Coexistence, he was issued two infringement notices, each punishable by fines of up to €750, in addition to a third notice for disrespecting an officer, which carries a fine of up to €600.

A Noisy Barracks

Furthermore, last Saturday, the Local Police also fined a barracks for disturbances caused by loud music, which, as verified by the officers, could be heard from nearby streets.

Those celebrating a party inside the barracks informed the officers that they believed they could play music at a high volume at that time. The Local Police proceeded to issue the corresponding fine for violating Article 92 of the Regulatory Ordinance of Civility and Citizen Coexistence, punishable by fines of up to €1,500.
