If July ends as forecasted, Alicante and the rest of the country are on track for the third warmest year (from January to July) in the historical series that began in 1961. This year would follow 2022 and 2023, making it so that the six warmest years have been recorded since 2015.
Temperatures will remain high in the province of Alicante this Friday, although they will drop slightly compared to the past two days. In fact, the province left behind the yellow alert for high temperatures yesterday, which will persist into the weekend in other parts of the peninsula.
Aemet forecasts that this Friday will be marked by predominantly clear or mostly clear skies, with intervals of low clouds in the morning. Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged, while maximum temperatures will decrease. The maximum forecast for Alcoi is 34ºC, 32ºC in Alicante and Dénia, while maximums in Elche and Orihuela will be 33ºC. Winds will be light and variable, predominantly from the east and south in the afternoon, with moderate east intervals along the coast.
For Saturday, mostly clear or clear skies are expected, with minimum temperatures slightly decreasing and maximum temperatures slightly increasing or remaining unchanged. Winds will be light and variable, tending to predominate from the south in the afternoon and increasing to moderate from the east along the coast.
