In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Tebas outlined his opposition to the government's decision in six paragraphs. After several calm readings, the Spanish football leader lays out his opinion as a jurist. "We are facing a clear case of extreme formalism, where the essential is ignored — that the decision was already made in accordance with the law (Competitions Directorate) — and a wording is exaggerated to justify an intervention that, honestly, seems more political than legal," he denounces on his official profile on this social network.

Last Thursday, the CSD definitively resolved the case of the Barcelona Football Club's federative licenses in favour of the Catalan club, allowing their forwards Olmo and Víctor to continue playing this season. "This is not just about a specific resolution. It's about defending the coherence of the system, respect for technical procedures, and legal certainty," Tebas states.

The top executive of LaLiga defends the actions of the control bodies of the Spanish competition. "LaLiga denied the prior visa through LaLiga Manager, in accordance with the automated procedures that have been in place for many seasons and officially recognised by the CSD itself. That decision was made by the competent body (Competitions Directorate through LaLiga Manager) and a decision that has not been challenged by anyone and remains fully valid in my opinion," he explains.

Subsequently, Tebas criticises that the CSD decides to annul a subsequent agreement of a Commission that simply confirmed that prior reality, as if it were the one who made the original decision. "That is not only incorrect: it is to force the literalness of a phrase ('agrees not to grant') to turn it into the centre of a nullity for 'manifest incompetence'.

Furthermore, he warns that this governmental decision endangers the entire established system in the issuance or rejection of federative licenses: "Because if every automated, valid and unchallenged act can be left in the air by how a subsequent act was drafted, we enter a very dangerous territory".

Finally, Tebas confirms the news that emerged in the hours following the resolution, LaLiga will appeal the resolution. "We will continue to defend our competencies and our processes, not out of institutional pride, but out of responsibility with Spanish professional sport," concludes the post of the president of LaLiga.
