Local Police in Elda have arrested the two occupants of a vehicle, one of whom was hiding a 100-gram package of hashish in his clothing. The incident occurred on Monday, around 7:30 PM, when a patrol unit conducting surveillance on Pablo Iglesias Street noticed a car whose occupants were behaving suspiciously. Upon stopping at an intersection with a stop sign and noticing the police presence, the individuals became nervous and began to drive intermittently.

In response to this behaviour, the officers stopped the vehicle and proceeded to identify the two occupants, discovering that the driver had multiple previous offences and the passenger lacked identification.

Before searching the vehicle and its two occupants, the driver handed over a hashish cigarette he was smoking while driving, and the passenger handed over a small fragment of the same substance.

After exiting the vehicle, the officers conducted a superficial search of the two men, finding a pressed package of hashish weighing about 100 grams in the inner part of one of their right socks, leading to the arrest of the individuals.

Additionally, the officers conducted a drug detection test on the driver, which returned positive for cannabis and cocaine use, resulting in both detainees being fined for possession of drugs in a public place.
