Officers from the Local Police of San Vicente del Raspeig have arrested an individual suspected of an alleged cable theft in the municipality, which has already caused several power outages in the Santa Isabel neighbourhood.
The incidents were detected on the night of Thursday, March 6, when the Local Police switchboard received a phone call alerting them to the presence of a man in the Santa Isabel area. Apparently, the man was tampering with an electrical cable register cover, attempting to steal it.

Units from this Local Police promptly arrived at the scene. After an intensive search, they located the accused, whose appearance matched the description provided by the informant who alerted the officers via a phone call. After verifying the facts, the alleged perpetrator was arrested for subsequent judicial proceedings. The Local Police have expressed gratitude for the community's cooperation, which has once again been vital in clarifying the events.
The Department of Urban Services and Maintenance has confirmed that the cable theft has affected some streets and facilities in the neighbourhood, including sports courts. The City Council is already working on the replacement and restoration of all points of the street lighting network that have been put out of service. The responsible councillor, Antonio Díaz, has highlighted "the damage caused by these uncivil acts to citizens because, in addition to suffering the consequences of the lack of lighting, we all have to pay for the necessary repairs."
