The National Police have arrested a man implicated in the murder of another man this past Tuesday in Dénia, as confirmed by TodoAlicante. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when an unknown individual, dressed entirely in black and wearing a dark helmet, approached a man on the central Patricio Ferrándiz street in the capital of Marina Alta and shot him in the chest, causing instant death.
The victim was 53 years old, Spanish but not a resident of the capital of Marina Alta. Furthermore, the National Police have no record of any prior criminal history for him.
Forensic officers inspected the crime scene, a garage located at 64 B of a three-story building. The police also spoke with witnesses and residents of the Diana street building where the two suspects being sought might have hidden.
In the early hours, before removing the cordon that sealed off the area, a tow truck took away the motorcycle used by the alleged perpetrators and left on Diana street, as well as the car found inside the garage. The latter was taken to police facilities for thorough examination.
Next to the front headlight on the driver's side, traces of dried blood indicate that the vehicle witnessed everything that transpired. The hood is also spattered with droplets that burst out after the victim was struck by the fatal bullet. Black dust surrounds the vehicle and small stickers mark where fingerprints were lifted.
A neighbor explains that around half-past seven in the evening, he saw two men wearing black pants and white polo shirts, each with a black motorcycle helmet concealing their faces. They were walking a few meters apart from each other. Five minutes later, he saw them running frantically towards Diana street, heading towards Paseo del Saladar. “I saw two guys running like madmen with their helmets on and thought it was very strange,” he recounts. At that moment, he was unaware of what had happened in a nearby garage.
